Summer Enrichment

“Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom.”  GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER

During the summer months, The Learning Curve offers the Summer Learning Academy, fun grade-level activities that reinforce lessons in Reading, Math, Arts and Crafts, Summer Book Projects, and Technology Integration. Students ranging from kindergarten through 8th grade thoroughly enjoy their time spent, whether it's for a full day or just a half day.

Mornings are full of reading and math enrichment. Students have the opportunity to complete reading and book projects assigned by their school districts. Educational games and computer activities with Internet access are incorporated into The Learning Curve’s overall effort to make education both fun and challenging.

The Learning Curve also focuses on character building, respecting ourselves and others, sharing, controlling anger, and techniques for dealing with bullies.

Arts and crafts are integral to The Learning Curve’s teaching strategy. Children use their imaginations, senses, and hands to create their own personal masterpieces.

We don’t just work, though. Our students have lots of outdoor playtime, movies, healthful lunches and snacks, games, computer time, as well as enlightening field trips and speakers.

Guest speakers and performers give health and safety advice, artistic presentations, and morale-boosting talks. Children attending The Learning Curve’s Summer Learning Academy come away feeling happy, accomplished, and encouraged to go out and be the best that they can be.
